H1 tags and Optimization

In this post we will see one of the most common SEO mistakes committed by millions of websites and then we will try to explain why a page in front of another in a search result.

If you enter “welcome” in google, you will see more than 60,000,000 results, really incredible, “the reason is that all these pages are welcome

with a …. .
Here we see the importance of knowing what are the labels.

Label not only serves to make the text larger, so this is the css, which indicates the label is the first level within a hierarchy, from the headlines. Google knows that if a text is that text in an h1 is the most representative of that page, the largest holder, and then so will the h2, h3, … if any.

The h1 tag is quite ugly in itself, perhaps too large, we usually do is put some style through the css. Change color, font type designated, and we modify the text size, but so soon?. Some people commented that it is better to let their real size, which can affect positioning andalusia. I do not entirely agree with this assertion, if we see Google as a web page, we will see that what is read the label and not the H1 associated css to that label. I’ve been looking online to find any studies on it, but I have not found anything serious.

I particularly use one H1 per page, the less I try to use h2 better and if possible related h1.

As to get into the text that h1 must be borne in mind what we want to position.

Let’s consider the example of “Windows Vista” (this example I told a client that wanted to buy Windows Vista because I wanted to take legal and consulting company in google I took the surprise). We are talking about the all-powerful Microsoft, we see how important it is to know what we want to position and how to take into account all the possible search options.
If you typed in google “Windows Vista”, we get as it seems logical, positioned at the top page of microsoft. But what happens when the user types in “buy Windows Vista? Some keywords that are completely logical to do what he wants.

The result is the following, the two occupy the top two websites completely on the mark, with headlines such as! 10 reasons not to buy windows vista “… or” I’m not stupid. ” The fact is that someone who wants to buy Windows Vista and do a search in google, the first thing you will read are comments totally contrary and that will make you think if you’re doing the right thing.

Now let’s analyze why a website is better positioned than the other in this result (Buy Windows Vista):

FIRST POSITION: blog kriptopolis.org

1. url: http://www.kriptopolis.org/comprar-vista-yo-no-soy-tonto
2. title: Buy Windows Vista? I’m not stupid! | Kriptopolis
3. h1: Buy Windows Vista? I’m not stupid!
4. paragraph: enter the keywords “windows vista” followed without bold or link
5. This is a blog and all comments have a title in a h3 url that includes the keywords, such as: Windows Vista
6. PageRank = 0
7. Joined: October 2006
8. External links pointing to it: 0

SECOND POSITION: blog desguate.com

1. url: http://desdeguate.com/blog/2007/02/21/10-razones-para-no-comprar-windows-vista/
2. title:>> 10 Reasons not to buy Windows Vista>> DesdeGuate.com
3. h1: no reference to these keywords
4. h2: 10 Reasons not to buy Windows Vista
5. paragraph: 10 reasons not to switch to Windows Vista
6. PageRank = 2
7. Joined: February 2007
8. External links pointing to it: 3

Let’s analyze why the first blog is best positioned:

1. url - The keywords are not complete, lack of them.
2. title - now the same as the second.
3. h1 - has placed the 3 keywords.
4. h2 - Not listed.
5. paragraph - the second worst
6. PageRank - the second worst
7. Oldest
8. External links - the second worst

In conclusion, the first blog will be better positioned than the second, for his h1 a page and for being older. All this is supported, of course, that the other labels have also done a good job. We must also comment that this blog has all the headlines with his comments h3 a url that contains the keywords.
